Jurassic World Rebirth

If you're a fan of dinosaurs, action-packed adventures, and a bit of sci-fi flair, Jurassic World Rebirth might be right up your alley. This latest entry in the long-running Jurassic Park franchise brings a fresh cast, a new setting, and some seriously massive prehistoric creatures back to the big screen.
Set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the story follows Zora Bennett, a covert ops expert played by Scarlett Johansson, who’s tasked with leading a high-stakes mission to retrieve genetic material from the world’s three largest dinosaurs. Why? Because their DNA might hold the key to curing heart disease. But things get complicated when her team crosses paths with a shipwrecked family, and they all end up stranded on a mysterious island with a dark secret.
Directed by Gareth Edwards (known for Godzilla and The Creator), the film leans into the classic Jurassic Park vibe with a mix of suspense, spectacle, and a few well-placed laughs. The visuals are stunning, thanks to a blend of practical effects and CGI, and the dinosaurs—both familiar and mutated—are as awe-inspiring (and terrifying) as ever. The Distortus rex, a grotesque six-limbed T. rex hybrid, is a standout creature that’s both scary and strangely sympathetic.
The cast includes Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, among others. While there are no returning characters from previous films, the new faces bring solid performances and some fun chemistry, especially during the film’s more intense moments.
Critics have been mixed on this one. Some praised it as a return to form with thrilling set pieces and nostalgic nods to the original, while others felt it didn’t bring much new to the table. If you’re looking for deep storytelling or groundbreaking ideas, this might not be your favorite. But if you’re in the mood for a big summer blockbuster with dinosaurs, explosions, and a few surprises, it delivers the goods.
Jurassic World Rebirth is a popcorn flick through and through. It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel, but it does offer a fun ride for fans of the franchise—or anyone who just wants to see giant creatures stomp around an island again. Just don’t expect it to change your life.
