Project Hail Mary – My 12‑year‑old review

I just watched Project Hail Mary and it was super cool! The whole movie is about a scientist named Ryland Grace (played by Ryan Gosling) who wakes up on a huge spaceship called the Hail Mary with no idea how he got there. He has to figure out why Earth is in danger from a giant space‑thing called a “cosmic threat” and use his brain to save everyone. It’s like a giant brain‑battle in space, but with a lot of fun moments.

The spaceship looks amazing – real sets, not CGI, and the puppet Rocky (a friendly alien made by James Ortiz) is awesome. The movie mixes cool science facts with jokes and music (Harry Styles, Beatles, even a song by Mercedes Sosa). The visuals are bright and shiny, and the music makes the space tunnels feel like a roller‑coaster.

Ryan Gosling is the best part. He’s goofy, kind, and smart, and he keeps the story moving fast. The movie is a popcorn‑style adventure that’s great for kids and adults alike. If you like E.T., The Lego Movie, or Star Wars, you’ll love this one. It’s a last‑ditch effort to save Earth, but it’s also a big, fun, brain‑power movie that makes you feel like you could do anything if you think hard enough.
