English movies in Madrid

Updated September 2026

Looking for a film in English tonight in Madrid? You do not need to open a dozen cinema websites and decode each schedule. Every English-language screening we track, from across the city's cinemas, sits on one page: what's showing in English. The listings are updated daily, so what you see is what is playing now.

For years the only way to find a film in its original English was to check each cinema's site one by one, week after week. That weekly chore is exactly what English Cinema Madrid removes.

What do VO and VOSE mean?

In Spain, most Hollywood and international films are dubbed into Spanish. To watch a film with its original English soundtrack, look for these labels:

A session marked VO or VOSE for an English-language film keeps the original English dialogue. Our film listings already filter for these, so you do not have to hunt for the labels yourself.

Where can I watch films in English in Madrid?

Madrid shows films in English right across the city, from historic single-screen cinemas in the centre to large multiplexes on the outskirts. Here is where to look, grouped by area, with a page for each cinema.

Central Madrid: Sol, Cortes and Lavapiés

Arganzuela and Legazpi

Plaza de España, Argüelles and Moncloa

This area is Madrid's traditional home for arthouse and original-version cinema.

Chamberí

Malasaña and Conde Duque

Near Retiro

Larger multiplexes around the city

If you are staying outside the centre, several big multiplexes regularly programme films in English, most of them inside shopping centres:

You can see them all on our cinemas page.

The easiest way to keep up

English-language programming changes every week. Instead of checking cinema sites one by one, let the listings come to you.
