Alejandro G. Iñárritu turns his camera on the most powerful man in the world, played by Tom Cruise, racing to prove he is humanity's savior before the mess he set loose catches up with him. Smart, frantic, and laced with drama, with Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, and Michael Stuhlbarg along for the ride, it is the sort of comedy that leaves you arguing happily over dinner about who had it right. A man, a plan, a meltdown: perfect fuel for a lively night together.

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return as the Owens sisters, facing down a family curse with charm, heart, and a little magic, under the direction of Susanne Bier. With Joey King, Maisie Williams, and Xolo Maridueña filling out the family, this romantic fantasy comedy is cozy, enchanting, and easy to fall into curled up next to someone. Screenings are few this week, so plan ahead if you want to let it sweep you away.
